The InBody provides detailed information on body fat and muscle composition for gym members and lets them know how to adjust their bodies to get the optimal composition. the InBody can provide motivation to exercise and can be used as a tool for accurate exercise coaching.
A scale cannot tell us how muscle composition changes as a result of exercise, but the InBody can. The InBody identifies how muscle composition fluctuates, as well as the segment in which the change occurs. The InBody motivates individuals to engage in continuous exercise and provides an opportunity for clients to monitor their body composition and change it through exercise.
Individuals will be able to monitor their improvements in body composition quickly and easily, regardless of their level of fitness knowledge.

Exercise prescriptions are designed to determine the type and intensity of exercise according to an individuals' physical health status, their capability for transformation, or their objective for exercising, such as enhancement of health or physical ability.
There should be an objective to the exercise prescription and a goal in mind, such as a reduction in the individuals' body fat or to increase muscle mass. The InBody is able to give an accurate assessment of these physical components. BMI is a superficial index that can be used, but is not as effective as the InBody.

Body composition analysis was done for a non-athletic person (BMI=26.8kg/m2) and a person working as a sports coach (BMI=26.3kg/m2) of similar height and weight. The noteworthy categories of comparison on the two results sheets were the bar graphs showing muscle mass and body fat mass. Regardless of weight, if the lengths of the two bar graphs showing lean body mass and body fat mass are the same, one can be said to be balanced. When the bar graph showing lean body mass is longer, one can be regarded as a muscular type, and if the graph showing lean body mass is the shorter of the two, one is categorized as a low-muscle type.
When the two individuals' results are compared the non-athletic person falls into the low-muscle type category while the sports coach is identified as being a muscular type. The finding showed that these two people had a similar BMI but have very different body fat percentages,: 24.6% and 14%. Based on this comparison we know that exercise prescriptions should be made based on the body composition of the individual not on their BMI.

He was working as a salary man after college, and he continued to gain weight steadily. His weight increased even more after marriage, resulting in a weight increase of 22.2lb. since his 20's. With high blood pressure (156/89 mmHg) and the symptom of fatty liver, he enrolled in the sports center.

For more than 10 years, he engaged in body building. Currently, working as a gym trainer, he works out for 2 hours a day. In the past, he sprained his left leg. Since then, he can't do exercises that require putting pressure on his left leg. The results of the body composition analysis reflect his sprain and show an imbalance in the lower part of his body.

When using a body composition analyzer to check the effect of exercise, it must give accurate and detailed results. By using 8-point tactile electrodes with consistent contact points, the InBody has higher reproducibility when compared to the existing device using adhesive electrodes.
